City of Bethlehem firefighters will visit the Reading Room to discuss fire safety for children of all ages. Explore the Children’s Fire Safety House, view an actual ladder truck and watch our dedicated firefighters suit up for a call!

The Nation’s Most Famous Crime Dog brings along City of Bethlehem Crime Prevention Officer Tom DeFrank to discuss topics ranging from bike safety, school safety, safe play, gender roles, bullying, cyber stalking, drugs, guns, diversity and gangs or anything you want to know.

MASON JAR HOLIDAY COOKIE PROJECT
Join chef and food professional Lisa Bowland as she walks children through an assembly line of sugar, spice and everything nice enough to make a dry-ingredient-filled mason jar cookie mix. Calling All Kids! Be part of the President’s Fitness Challenge! (grades 4&5)
City of Bethlehem Police Dept. Fitness Trainer, Officer Michael Ogrodnick, will visit the Reading Room to help kids incorporate exercise into their daily routines. This three-part series will culminate in an age-appropriate run/walk that will include a Bethlehem Bike police escort. Open to any ability level. NOTE: Children must wear sneakers.
